Ship Building:
  • Cockpit: The heart of your build. Stats to pay attention to is speed since mods increase resistance, durability, thrust or mobility.
  • Wings: Take the punishment. Stat to pay attention to is resistances, mods will increase resistance or durability.
  • Engine: Can't catch me. Stat to pay attention to again is speed since mods increase resistance, durability, thrust or mobility.
  • Shields: Are useless early, but gains strength at higher levels. Has ability to recharge. Mods can add resistance, increase strength, or regen rate. Also a component to the tele-repair specials.
  • Energy weapons: Average damage against shields and hull, heavy.
  • Mechanical weapons: High damage against hull, generally lighter than energy.
  • Explosive weapons: Chance to bypass shields, best used in PvE engagements due to splash damage.
Skill Planning & Tactics:
  • Level 6-15 focus skills point placement in ship and weapon choice only. As well as one additional point in tactics skill.
  • The only two Tactics you need is boost and u-turn. Edit: This is all based on your build type. Another favorite is Counter-Attack for missile users.
  • Only choose one weapon type to develop. two level ten beams are stronger than level five beam and  level five vulcan.
  • There are 3 defensive skills. Hull, Engine and Shield. Choose 2 to develop.
  • Pay attention to the mass of your ship. This affects the way you accelerate and turn.
  • Left Shift will bring up labels for anything in range. Looking for that objective or NPC, label it.
  • Having trouble sniping, get in first-person mode. Press V to change views.
